Overview

The Area Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all national and local negotiated accounts in their market segments. They are also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues.

Responsibilities Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.Participate in daily business review meeting, training and other catering sales related meetings as required.Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfactionAttend trade shows, community events and industry meetings as requested.Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.Perform other duties as requested by management. Qualifications

 

3+ years of past business travel sales experience highly preferred.Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers in San Francisco market.Strong computer literacy with knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.Analysis of STR data segmentation.A sound understanding of effective sales strategies for corporate preferred, consortia & agency business.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, passionate, strategic and innovative.Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and/or the public. Ability to sell to the C-Suite or managerial level buyers. Capability to be assertive and persuasive.Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions.In-market experience in business travel at similar size and quality hotel(s). Multi-hotel experience preferred but not necessary.Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.Candidates must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to make solid decisions quickly to adjust to the changing market demands.Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

 

Salary range: ($110,000 - $120,000 yr.)
