Compensation:
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $86,100.00 to $143,500.00.

Position Details:
As the Area EHS Manager, you will implement and manage environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs for distribution facilities, branches, and offices in the specified territory in compliance with EHS legal requirements and Grainger standards. You will help train and educate team members on EHS requirements and practices. You will also provide EHS subject matter expertise support to the supply chain leaders and team members . Your role will report to an EHS Senior Manager for the region and will collaborate with other EHS area managers across Grainger.
You Will:
• Develop, implement, and lead EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, incident prevention/reduction, and cost control/reduction including in the areas of: ergonomics, injury /illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental management, emergency preparedness, and general employee safety.
• Perform frequent site safety audits and assessments to identify EHS risks and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injuries.
• Help to build a strong culture of EHS excellence and team collaboration focused on continuous improvement.
• Develop and deliver effective EHS training and communications.
• Provide guidance and leadership on EHS to supply chain leaders and team members.
• Manage and support complex and cross-functional EHS improvement initiatives across the supply chain network.
• Audit the workplace and team member behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
• Analyze data from safety incidents, audits, inspections, and employee feedback to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Recommend corrective actions and continuously monitor safety performance, drive continuous improvement, and refine EHS processes, ensuring implementation of best practices.
• Establish, monitor, and report on site level EHS performance metrics.
• Support investigations of EHS incidents, identifying root causes and ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
• Provide frequent status updates on EHS matters to the applicable supply chain partners and the EHS leadership team.
You Have:
• Bachelor's Degree in a field specific to safety or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in distribution or manufacturing organizations.
• Technical skills related to safety matters.
• Experience working with safety related databases and software.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO standards, and other EHS management systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and influence strategy concerning EHS matters.
• Skills in relationship development, collaboration, and enhancing EHS engagement.
• Professional certification preferred (CSP, CIH or equivalent).
