Area Inspector

Job Description:

Indorama Ventures is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as an Area Inspector at our Port Neches, TX location.  In this role, you will implement the fixed equipment mechanical integrity program in assigned area of responsibility.  Responsible for inspection activities and decision making related to repairs, new construction, and turnarounds.  Function as primary leadership authority for coordination of 3rd party and specialty inspection contractors.

What will be expected from you?

Manage planning, scheduling and execution of all inspection activities in primary area of responsibility to ensure consistent implementation of Reliability Based Mechanical IntegritySM (RBMI) for fixed equipment Risk Based Inspection  program.Input inspection results into RBMI, update equipment criticalities and inspection work plans, and establish next inspection dates.Ensure all inspection work plans (IWPs) are forecasted, communicated to stakeholders for coordination of equipment availability, and executed on or before the established due dates.Perform quality assurance review of contractor reports to ensure acceptance standards are met before input of data into RBMI.Provide monthly reporting of equipment criticalities and inspection forecasting.Plan, schedule and coordinate contract inspection activities to meet RBMI work plans and due dates.Provide fixed equipment consults for equipment repairs and new projects.Maintains data quality in RBMI and inspection documentation (history, inspection results, equipment data and drawings) in  electronic files.Coordinate and oversee specialty  inspection services (radiography, scanning, advanced nde, etc.) as required.Perform quality assurance of offsite shop inspections related to new construction and repairs.Coordinate and schedule State Boiler inspections. Participate on fixed equipment Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations.Embrace continuing education by identifying training needs, budgets, schedules and attending training.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

High school diploma and 12+ years of relevant experience or Associates degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.Must have a level of proficiency with internet, Email and Microsoft programs.Must have certification in one or more of the following: API 510 Pressure Vessels, API 570 Piping Inspection and Repair. Training or familiarity with API 580 Risk Based Inspection is preferred.  API 653 Storage Tank Inspection and Repair, CWI and NACE are a plus.The ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
