What Nuclear Manufacturing contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Nuclear Manufacturing is responsible for the manufacturing of time sensitive radiopharmaceuticals in an integrity driven, highly regulated environment (i.e. FDA, NRC, DOT) to support patient treatment through disease diagnosis, staging, and monitoring.
Locations of coverage: Dallas, Houston, Albuquerque
Travel required up to 50% depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
Oversees cyclotron operations in Beltsville, MD and Sharon Hill, PA, in the production of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with quality and regulatory policies, operating procedures and company policies. Drives accountability for sites executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements including Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Models disciplined approach to adhering to a large volume of SOP’s, with the ability to lead teams to adopting necessary process improvementsMonitors and verifies quality in accordance with SOPs, using the Quality Management System (QMS), and including the following programs: CAPA, Change Control, Investigations, Complaints and Annual Product Reviews.Ensures inventory is managed in accordance with policies to maintain accuracy within ERP system to minimize waste and avoid material stockouts.Ensures their sites’ have an effective internal audit program. Ensures that investigations on deviations and OOS are conducted in a timely and complete fashion. Offers insight into trend analysis for eliminating preventable investigations.Ensures sites perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facility. May troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.Oversees site management to ensure production capability of the facility and makes recommendations accordingly for service and repair of critical components including the cyclotron, chemistry systems, analytical equipment, and environmental controls (facility systems). Work in partnership with cross functional teams to ensure product/production expectations and demands are met. Ensures site teams communication proactively during contingency plans. Ensures production efficiency, secure the transfer of the proper amount of produced material to the pharmacies, and customer satisfaction.Ensures an effective radiation safety program is managed within each site.Oversees adherence to administration of company policies.Ensures safety programs are led according to company policies.Assures that their sites’ validation protocols/reports have been properly reviewed and approved.Ensures their sites’ media fills are executed with optimal planning of resources and materials. Reviews media fill documentation and provides feedback in a timely manner.Oversees that sites provide employee training and that requirements are successfully completed, and training documentation is current. Develops performance plans for subordinates to ensure continuous improvement in One Team metrics. Establishes performance goals, development plans, and monitors results. Plan, schedule and lead conference calls amongst various team members and other departments to properly communicate and meet company objectives. This includes but is not limited to regional monthly OneTeam metrics calls, local pharmacy & manufacturing team calls and participation in QBR initiatives to support the business.Interviews, hires, disciplines, recommends termination, and evaluates all employees under his/her direct supervision. Develops trains and motivates employees including supervisory team members to maximize job performance. Provides direction for teambuilding and employee motivation and development. Applies knowledge and skills to effectively enhance the smooth functioning and productivity of the team. Manages areas’ budgets and applies knowledge of key profit drivers of P&L. Investigates unusual P&L information.Perform other assignments/duties as required or directed to ensure the business objectives are met.
