The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales and operational performance of multiple branches within the area. This role focuses on developing and mentoring Branch Managers and providing leadership to the area that exemplifies FleetPride’s values of Safety, People, Integrity, Customers, and Operational Excellence. Area Managers will work closely with Branch Managers to align area/branch objectives with activities that meet or exceed their financial targets for sales, margins, and EBITDA. Area Managers will also be responsible for navigating FleetPride’s internal and external networks to marshal the necessary resources to satisfy customers, grow market share and achieve company objectives. Traveling regularly will be critical to engage team members and customers to support FleetPride’s vision to be the preferred solutions provider for heavy duty parts and service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & People Management
Hire and supervise Branch Managers as well as participate in the staffing process at each branch location to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner with the right people in the right roles.Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for Branch Managers and position them to successfully coach others to maximize individual/team potentialConduct regular branch location visits to celebrate successes, identify areas of opportunity and to drive overall above-market performance.Create a best-in-class employee experience by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and safety at all branch locations within the area.Conduct regular performance reviews for Branch Managers, providing constructive feedback, and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure alignment with area and company objectives.Sales Management
Develop and execute area-level sales strategies to meet or exceed financial targets for sales, margins, and EBITDA.Drive organic growth through a combination of new customers and expanding share of wallet with existing customers including local customers, regional fleets, and national accounts.In partnership with branch leadership, develop and implement strategic account plans that outline growth opportunities and milestones for local/core account management.Monitor and analyze sales performance via key performance indicators (KPIs) across branches, identifying trends, and implementing corrective action plans where necessary.Coach team members to leverage the "FleetPride Way to Sell" method in all aspects of account management.Provide regular reports to Regional Senior Director on branch performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.Operational Management
Drive safety awareness with team members including training for FleetPride’s safety policies, programs, and procedures.Drive operational excellence through SOP and KPI standardization, identifying waste while improving the customer and employee experience.Develop and implement operational strategies at the branch / area level that optimize the branch’s resources and are in accordance with local customer expectations.Take ownership of financial P&L results at the branch and area levels to ensure that performance is meeting strategic objectives. If objectives are not being met, formulate, and implement action plans with sales and operations teams.Provide regular reports to Regional Senior Director on branch / area performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.Maintain clean and organized facilities to support a safe, efficient, and welcoming work environment.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with other area managers and corporate departments to ensure alignment of area activities with overall company objectives.Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices across the area.Actively participate in regional and company-wide meetings, sharing insights from the area, and providing feedback to improve overall operations.EDUCATION & TRAINING
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) RequiredAssociate degree in Business, Management, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferredValid drivers’ license with clean driving record.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Professional Experience
