The Central Operations Area Manager ensures positive interactions between Amazon Delivery Stations, third-party companies, and CO Operators and delivers on operational objectives. Through the use of tools, management of a team, and coordination with various partners. This Area Manager (AM) role requires the skills to decide independently which actions to take for short term decisions and limited supervision for medium long term. These decisions impact the EU AMZL on road capacity management and D-1 blended SPR (shipments per route) accuracy.
Area Managers in AMZL Central Ops will lead a team of up to 25 associates on shift, and circa 6 direct reports, serving as problem solver and primary escalation point for the team and other stakeholders. They will also provide periodic updates to Program Managers about status of the operation or any major escalations, maintaining a full understanding of workflow and daily metrics goals, allocate labor and train new associates, drive continuous improvement, and enforce SOP compliance and SLAs response times.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong communication processes to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information across Amazon teams Providing visibility on actions and reasoning to earn trust from stakeholders. Remaining impartial to focus on the bigger picture without bias
- Scale services, tools, and processes that will enable the business growth in CO footprint, complexity, and geographic dispersion while still maintaining a high bar for the customer experience
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team in areas including Sales and Operations Planning, DSPM an Ops leadership to align and execute the strategy at DS and country level.
- Work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution, process improvement and track progress against goals
- Identify, assess and mitigate risks, drive resolution of critical issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, proposing corrective actions to keep initiatives moving forward
- Maintain and report up to date and accurate KPIs, management reports and analysis (DBR/WBR/Intra-week reports)
The designated shift pattern for this role is rotative (Sun - Thu and Tue - Sat) each 12 weeks. Time: 12:50 to 21:00 CET.
