At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through a partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence. 

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100 years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

You'll Have…

Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry, material engineering, industrial engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalentExperience: 3 years of customer service experience or equivalent 10 years’ experience with battery or automotive Interaction with Ford or another automotive OEM a plusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Fluent level of speak/write in English

Six Sigma BlackbeltBackground in Lean Manufacturing Experience with Greenfield / Startup SitesExperience in IATF 16949 QMS, risk management, and process improvement (SPC, APQP). Proficient in process capability analysis (Cp/Cpk/Pp/Ppk), control plans, 8D, DFM, AIAG standards, and ISO certifications (9001, 26262, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3). Experienced with MSDS, ISIRs, 3R/5S, and mechanical drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills and technical documentation abilities.

The successful candidate will be a Ford Secondee to the joint venture.  A secondee is an employee who is temporarily transferred to the joint venture although continues their employment with Ford.

The Customer Quality Area Manager (LL5) position at the Tennessee Battery Plant in Stanton, Tennessee will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up. 

The BlueOval SK Quality CQ Area Manager will oversee the Customer Quality Department for both Tennessee and Kentucky Battery Plants directly supporting the OEM on Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), customer audit, and projects involving failure investigations and root cause analysis. This employee will lead CQ QOS for all BOSK facilities and inform OCMs on CQ issues. Including, but not limited to: 

What you'll do...

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Develop and mentor Customer Quality personnel at all BOSK battery plantsChampion all Customer Quality policy deployment at all BOSK battery plants Lead plant Quality launch effortsDevelop and maintain effective Customer quality communications to be cascaded at all BOSK battery plantsCoordinate real-time Customer Quality concerns and feedback to production departmentsPush known Customer Quality issues upstream to prevent recurrences

Lead the Customer Quality Department for all BOSK battery plants in the following areas:

Regional Quality Representative: Manages customer communication (0km, field issues), 8D reports, and initial complaint inspections. Provides immediate on-site support at OEM facilities, facilitates 4M change approvals, and escalates customer feedback.Customer Audits: Reviews audit documents, participates in internal audits, provides audit support, and collaborates with cross-functional teams.PPAP/ISIR Support: Manages PPAP submissions, provides on-site support, and ensures customer understanding of BOSK capabilities.Customer Relationship Management: Maintains customer knowledge, conducts on-site visits, and gathers customer feedback.Quality Cost Management: Monitors defect rates, quality costs, and cost-sharing ratios.
