The Area Operations Manager will provide leadership, support, coaching and direction on areas related to day-to-day operations to an assigned group of branches. Reporting to the Director, National Operations the Area Operations Manager is a business partner to Branch Area Managers. The Area Operations Manager will provide problem solving assistance, so each Branch Manager can achieve the highest level of customer service within the parameters of the operational budgets. Additionally, they will support and coach Branch Managers to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Guides, coaches, and supports Branch Managers and branches to achieve operational excellence.Provides direction to branch leadership and associates to ensure compliance with all operating procedures and internal controls.Provides training to associates on SOPs and operational systems.Monitors and supports on shelf availability, stock maintenance, planograms, and processes linked with inventory levels. Combined with BAM – may be overlapLeads and supports branches with activities before, during and after physical inventory counts.Reviews, operations including fixed assets, cash sales, sales order process & branch PO processing and makes recommendations based on SOPs.Regularly, monitors the operations of the buildings including providing support in coordinating maintenance and repairs with the Branch Manager. Consults with the facilities team.Regularly, monitors maintenance and repairs for truck fleet, forklifts, and warehouse equipment in conjunction with the Branch Manager.Monitors and supports freight costs and identifies areas of opportunity for cost savings, not reviewing itMakes recommendations and approves CAPEX and OPEX expenses within approved budgets in conjunction with business partners (BAM, Directors, and Finance).Monitors and reviews operational reporting regularly, makes recommendations to improve productivity and process.Ensures effective coaching, compliance and execution of SOPs aligned with branch audit.Supports the implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures and works with Regional Health and Safety Coordinators and BAMs to uphold a Safety-First mindset.Ensures implementation and adherence to loss prevention, security and risk management SOPs and guides team, accordingly, works with business partners to secure assets.Other tasks and projects as assigned.What you will bring:
Post Secondary education in Business or related discipline, plus a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a distribution/wholesale/retail operations environment, including at least two (2) years in a management capacity, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong leadership and people management skills through supervising, providing feedback and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability to identify inefficiencies, areas to improve, formulates action plans and implements changes.Influencing management at all levels and effecting value added business change.Strong excel, data analysis, and business acumen.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.Travel to branches as required.Highly organized in prioritizing work and multi-tasking.Salary Range: $74,000 - $84,000 plus bonus
