The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is looking for a collaborative, operational-focused, and experienced Area Practice Manager for all Pulmonary Services, including Critical Care (providers only) across the health system!

Position Summary & Highlights: 

As the Area Practice Manager, you will oversee the operations of all Pulmonary and Critical Care Services (Critical Care providers only), including overseeing 40+ colleagues including: 10 physicians (including 3 Medical Directors and 3 pending starts), 9 providers and APPs, 1 Nursing Supervisor, 8 MAs, 3 RNs, 3 Respiratory Therapists, , 1 Assistant Clinical Lead, Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator, LN Program Administrator, 1 Clinic Supervisor, and 8 Patient Service Representatives, primarily in Boise and Nampa, and outreach clinics in Ontario and Baker City.

You will have a dyad relationship with 3 Medical Directors for Pulmonary Services, Boise ICU, and Nampa ICU. Each site or subspecialty and will be responsible in carrying out policies, protocols, etc., under their lead. You will also be responsible for the workflow functions, outcomes, customer satisfaction and quality measures of the practices with the result of meeting or exceeding the established financial and other objectives set in cooperation with medical group leadership.

Our board-certified pulmonary physicians serve critically ill patients, from children to adults within the hospital and in their outpatient clinic.

The outpatient clinic specializes in treating individuals with acute, chronic and recurring conditions of the respiratory system. These include but aren't limited to: Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Emphysema, Lung nodules, Pulmonary fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial lung disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Chronic Respiratory Failure, and Toxic Exposures. Additionally, the outpatient clinic provides pulmonary function testing along with other diagnostic services.

What You Will Do:

You will be responsible for the workflow functions, outcomes, customer satisfaction and quality measures of the practices with the result of meeting or exceeding the established financial and other objectives set in cooperation with medical group leadership.

You will be responsible for the following areas: Leadership/Management, Operations, Personnel Management, Customer Service, Financial Management, Quality & Compliance, Business Development, and Communication and Teamwork.

Participate in monthly meetings (or as needed) with physicians (including Joint Center Council) to facilitate decision-making and improve practice operations based upon identified metrics for the practice. 

Responsible for monthly monitoring and reporting to the physicians of financial results, and patient experience reporting as well as action plans to meet established objectives.

Oversee clinic supervisory roles, in collaboration with the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Network Director of Nursing and collaborate with Clinic Managers throughout Saint Alphonsus Medical Group.

An ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of ambulatory practice and hospital operations and customer requirements.

You will be compassionate, but also an experienced leader that has strong organizational skill set, experience with change management, strong collaboration skills, and has experience with finance/budgeting.

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess knowledge normally acquired through completion of a master’s degree in business or healthcare related field, with ten (10) or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   

7 years supervisor/manager experience required.

Must have working knowledge of hospital operations and experience working closely with physicians in a dyad fashion.
