Area Sea Logistics - Exports Development Manager

Your Role In this high profile and customer-facing Sea Logistics position, the individual will be responsible for developing the export sea logistics product for the region. The role will require a highly motivated individual to analyze data sources in order to identify opportunities to develop and retain business in line with the company’s strategic growth targets. \r\nThe overall goal is product growth. The individual will be expected to work closely with the area line management teams, BU sales / sales mgmt., National Key Account mgmt. and Specialty Product Leaders to facilitate growth / retention opportunities while acting as the bridge with the Trade, National Pricing and Implementation teams to ensure clear understanding on scope, pricing levels and business onboarding requirements. Your Responsibilities Provide commercial leadership &\r\ndirection to the local area teams as\r\nit pertains to the Sea Export productDrive volume growth on sea exports for\r\nthe region while maintaining trade profitabilityYield Maximization – maximize GP through\r\ncarrier choices and negotiating with internal/external stakeholdersCoordinate on pricing strategies for BU\r\nSales and National Key Account opportunities in tandem with Trade Management, National\r\nPricing and Export Specialty Product Leaders (Reefer, LCL, etc.)Pro-actively participate in customer\r\nvisits / meetings in conjunction with local/area personnelManage Customer retention & focus on\r\nprospecting for new BusinessStay up-to-date with Market Knowledge\r\n& provide continuous updates to the TeamBusiness Development & Strategy\r\nsetting to increase Market shareSupporting Sales in turning opportunities\r\ninto Business PartnersClose cooperation with Branch & Area\r\nmanagement for an enhanced customer experienceEnhance customer satisfaction through the\r\nhighest level of service quality achievableActively seek regular community-based\r\nactivities for team participationEstablish and maintain a positive\r\nemployee experience Your Skills and Experiences 5+ years of sales and new business development experience.5+ years of freight forwarding industry experience in particular with Sea Logistics.Demonstrated skills in planning, critical thinking, information gathering/analysis, prioritization, time management, and complaint resolution.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
