POSITION SUMMARY: Marathon Petroleum Company LP’s Louisiana Refining Division currently has a vacancy for an Area Team Engineer in the Engineering Department. We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to provide project management and mechanical design services for a refinery process operations team and/or capital project team. Projects include new capital projects and modifications needed to properly maintain and optimize existing operating units. Projects typically range in size from $20,000 - $5,000,000. Management of multiple projects concurrently is required . Relocation is available. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Applying project management skills in all phases of project engineering from conception to closeout. + Managing multiple projects and assignments in a timely , safe, and cost-effective manner. + Providing mechanical support and troubleshooting skills for Area Teams. + Participating in area HAZOP reviews and incident investigations. + Coordinating work of in-house designers and outside engineering contractors. + Developing scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital projects. + Providing mechanical assistance to the Area Teams during process unit Turnarounds. + Interacting daily with project team members developing and executing project objectives. + Conferring with management and project stakeholders throughout a project life cycle.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required . (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date) + Minimum of 3 years post degree engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical industry is preferred.
