POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Armed K9 Handlers to join our elite security team. As a K9 Handler, you will be permanently assigned a trained explosive detection dog and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of high-priority facilities. Your responsibilities will include screening buildings, vehicles, and deliveries for explosive threats, conducting detailed inspections, and enforcing site security protocols.
Successful candidates must complete a 4-8 week intensive training and certification program before deployment.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
Hourly Rate: $45 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deploy and handle a highly trained explosive detection dog in security operations. Conduct detailed screenings of personnel, vehicles, and deliveries for potential explosive threats. Ensure the proper care and well-being of the assigned canine, including maintaining a climate-controlled, indoor living space at the handler’s residence. The residence and canine living area will be subject to routine inspections. Maintain accurate training records, documenting all ongoing canine training and certification requirements. Operate a company-provided vehicle for work-related duties. Enforce site security measures, respond to emergencies, and monitor security systems. Maintain all required certifications, security clearances, and training. Perform additional duties as assigned to support mission objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Age: 21 years or older. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a TS-SCI with CI Polygraph. Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Communication: Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Driver’s License: Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license. Criminal History: No prior domestic violence convictions (Lautenberg compliance). Personal Vehicle (POV): Must be suitable for K9 transportation. Living Arrangements: Must have a fenced yard. No other pets allowed in the residence. Preferred Experience: At least one year of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational setting.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must successfully complete and maintain all required canine, firearms, and Security Protection Officer (SPO) training. Certification in Explosive Detection K9 Training, meeting the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) standards or an equivalent recognized certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
Two (2) years of service in the U.S. Armed Forces (Active Duty, Reserves, or National Guard). A combination of two (2) years of experience in physical security (as a security officer, armed or unarmed) and military service. Associate degree or higher in a security-related or law enforcement field. Successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy. Three (3) years of experience in physical security (as a security officer, armed or unarmed).

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment: Work conditions range from controlled training environments to active field operations. Exposure to outdoor elements including extreme heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and high-noise environments.
Work Schedule: Aligns with customer requirements, including nights, weekends, holidays, and required travel.
