Job Description:

The Armed Security Agent is responsible for providing Executive Protection support, in addition to responding to unusual or emergency situations using established by protocols. The Armed Security Agent will provide Executive Protection to the Company’s Executive Committee members and Board of Directors during travel and events, safeguarding the physical premises in coordination with Global Security management and/or local law enforcement. Additionally, the role will be responsible for administrative oversight of many security functions and processes as listed below.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Executive Protection support of our Executive Committee members when traveling in the Continental United States, to include working weekends, holidays and different shifts.

·         Executive Protection support of our Board of Directors when participating in American Express Board functions.

·         Support Global Security during special events, weather-related emergencies, etc.

·         Manage and oversee contract security guard staffing during afterhours.

·         Manage NYC tower parking privileges for company senior leaders and authorized individuals afterhours.

·         Support the Director as a Crisis Response Team backup. 

·         Perform on/off site event advance function and work colleague events. 

·         Support Director on security upgrades and requirements related to company M&A projects. 

·         Video playback requests required for internal investigations / Subpoena compliance. 

·         Manage elevated privilege access in IIQ. 

·         Oversee and maintain lost and found personal and company property. 

·         Conduct fingerprinting upon request for GCO and company senior leaders. 

·         Manage and oversee the bicycle and e-mobility device program for the NY tower. 

·         Investigate as requested or required to recover property and establish probable cause. 

·         Manage and oversee the loading dock access procedures for contractors and vendors. 

·         Maintain internal and external partnerships with critical facilities personal and law enforcement. 

·         Prevent unauthorized persons from entering American Express facilities utilizing access control methods and devices (x-ray machine, magnetometers, hand-held scanners, database and printed listings). 

·         Provide access for approved staff (employees, tenants, guests, contractors, consultants and/or temporary employees) utilizing the above methods and devices. 

·         Inspect packages, bags, mail and parcels entering the facility through the use of x-ray and screening technology (if applicable) to prevent explosive or hazardous material from entering the facility. 

·         Perform roving patrols as assigned, initiating proper notification of hazards and malfunctioning equipment.  Visually check I.D. badges to ensure only authorized personnel are within American Express facilities. 

·         Patrol on foot to detect or prevent unauthorized entry.

·         Be alert for and communicate potential security, property or safety concerns and initiate appropriate actions including notification to Global Security management and/or local law enforcement.

·         Prepare reports of incidents and resulting actions and records in Global Security (SWORD) database

·         Respond to the presence of an active shooter by immediately confronting the individual and using lethal force, if necessary, to prevent or cut short an attempted mass shooting. 

·         Subdue violent or potentially violent individuals. 

·         Respond to life threatening or emergency situations based on established policies and procedures.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Previous Executive Protection experience and vast knowledge of Executive Protection strategies.

·         Knowledge of discrete defense tactics.

·         Must be legally authorized to carry a firearm under H.R. 218, the “Law Enforcement Officers’ Safety Act” (LEOSA), and proficient in firearms usage and safety.

·         Must be able to meet or exceed minimum proficiency and safety standards for firearms, including all applicable state, county, city and local municipality licensing and permit requirements for an armed Security Officer.

·         Must successfully complete an annual firearms requalification course at a Global Security approved firing range.

·         Ability to travel on short notice.

·         Ability to work in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, and the use of protective gear and devices. 

·         Knowledge of emergency first aid/CPR/AED – while waiting for arrival of emergency services personnel.  Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, operating with a sense of urgency as needed.

·         Frequent and prolonged walking and standing as needed.

·         Must be physically able to restrain suspicious person(s)/trespassers in lieu of armed force if possible.

·         Armed Security Officer (ASO-TSA license) preferred for executive protection assignments into Washington Reagan National Airport, in Washington, DC

·         Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels and achieve results.

·         Familiarity/knowledge of access control systems, alarm systems and CCTV and their functions.

·         Ability/knowledge to access company software (Microsoft Office Suite) to input incident reports into Global Security database.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
