Make continuous progress in, and successfully complete Rose Hills’ At-Need Arranger Training program to become an At-Need Arrangements Counselor. Trainee will undergo an examination of Rose Hills’ products and services with trainer lead instruction, departmental cross training, observation of actual arrangement meetings, and hands on training. As an Arrangements Counselor, this position is responsible for ensuring that funeral arrangements are performed with a high level of accuracy and in a highly professional, compassionate, and courteous manner, and that they comply with company policy and with state and federal regulations.

Successfully complete Rose Hills’ At-Need training program including trainer lead instruction, departmental cross training, observation of actual arrangement meetings, and hands on training.Must demonstrate depth of knowledge in company products and services, company policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.Complete funeral and cemetery arrangements with a high level of accuracy and compassion and perform the necessary case management activities including, but not limited to, ensuring all case paperwork is complete and provided to appropriate departments, ensuring case instructions are clear and concise, and ensuring necessary follow through activities are performed timely.Present and sell Rose Hills’ products and services in accordance with company objectives and maintain consistent product sales performance levels.Maintain positive, professional working relationships with coworkers and cross-functional departments.Support Rose Hills’ Family Service ProgramDemonstrate a high level of compassion, empathy, integrity, and willingness to help others.Provide notary services for official company documents and documents that require notary to complete the arrangements processAbide by the Company dress code and any department requests regarding work attire.                                                                       Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary.Adhere to Company policies, procedures, rules, and controls.Adhere to safety rules and regulations, and report unsafe practices to management.Act on customer complaints to provide satisfactory resolution.Adhere to the attendance policy and report to work on time.

Experience and Education:

Five years’ experience in the mortuary/cemetery industry, with knowledge of funeral ceremonies and practices, including three years arranging funerals- preferredLicensed Funeral Director (or pass the California Funeral Directors Exam) and/or licensed Embalmer, preferredMust pass CFDA Arrangers Test or equivalent, and if necessary, complete an CFDA Funeral Arrangers Course or equivalent, and successfully pass the accompanying examination by a score of 75% or higherMust pass exam to become a licensed notaryStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism, customer service, and willingness to help othersProfessional sales and/or strong customer service backgroundMinimum of two years of college; or A.A. degree preferredBilingual a plus

Compensation:

$24.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
