What role you will play in our team
We are looking to hire Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) with prior industry experience to work on challenging technology and engineering problems that span oil and gas exploration & production, chemicals/fuels/lubricants products and low carbon solutions. A successful candidate would understand a business problem (both commercially and technically), translate it into a computational, data science or machine learning problem and apply engineering, numerical, data science and programming skills to tackle it, leveraging external capabilities (technology and talent) as appropriate. Persons in this role will lead technology discovery, development, and delivery activities for new business or technology opportunities and/or sustainment activities for existing solutions using Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). They will work as part of an agile team to ensure solutions are scalable, reproducible and with commercial-grade quality.
What you will doProvide functional expertise/guidance to teams and collaborate effectively with other Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, Computational Scientists, Principals, Senior Principals, Supervisors, Managers, Domain experts and Contractors across the globe to develop strategies/plans to solve business or technology problems and add tangible business value. Integrates deep technical skills with business judgement to address business challenges. Leads the scoping and identifies the appropriate solution design of a deployment of a new data science solution. Applies software development practices, DevOps skills and Machine Learning (ML) techniques and coordinates the implementation effort of an end-to-end machine learning workflow that effectively brings ML models to production. Sustain data science solutions by enabling continuous ML model and/or service performance monitoring, training, and re-training of models, including the implementation of proactive alerting methods. Mentors and coaches junior team members. Promotes existing Machine Learning (ML) architecture/design approaches and consults on new trends. About You
Skills and Qualifications
Must have Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Computer Science, IT, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related disciplines with score 70% and above (equivalent CGPA) Minimum 5 years of prior industry experience solving data science and machine learning problems including but not limited to regression, classification, time series forecasting, computer vision, natural language processing and generative AI Experience with data science workflow orchestration (e.g. Databricks) and Machine Learning Operations (e.g. MLflow) Experience in leading machine learning team in prioritizing, allocating resources and mentoring machine learning professionals. Experience with a machine learning project from inception to deployment Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code (e.g. Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles) Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment/Delivery (e.g. Github Actions) Experience with refactoring legacy code and leveraging third-party libraries/APIs during software development Experience developing using cloud platform (e.g. Azure) and containers (e.g. Docker) Competent to expert level programming experience in C/C++/Python Strong foundation in application design Experience with source code version control (e.g Git) Skills and Qualifications
