Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the arts and crafts department on Edwards AFB. The purpose of this position is to teach a variety of arts and crafts classes, including but not limited to: Painting and drawing, pottery and ceramics, sewing and textiles, jewelry making and beading, woodworking and carpentry. Develop and implement lesson plans, including preparing materials, setting up classrooms, and cleaning up after classes. Provide individualized instruction and guidance to students, adapting to their unique needs and learning styles. Demonstrate techniques, provide examples, and offer constructive feedback to students. Encourage creativity, experimentation, and exploration of new techniques and mediums. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Promote programs and classes through social media, flyers, and other marketing materials. Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop new programs and classes. Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching and learning. Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods. Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical.
