Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience, medical/surgical nursing experience with critical care, emergency room or triage experience preferred, and one (1) year of leadership experience (Charge RN, CUC or management)
Licensure/Certification:
Current Maryland state license and registration to practice professional nursing, ACLS, CPI

• Knowledge of current bed statues within the Medical Clinical Service Group.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervises hospital activities in the absence of administrative personnel.
• Gather information from various sources regarding staffing needs of units and establish need priorities
• Resource ASAP/Agency to fill units unmet needs
• Update AtStaff data base to reflect changes made to need requirements
• Supervise staffing coordinators in resourcing temporary staff
• Adjusts and floats nursing staff as necessary.
• Collaborates with Staffing Clerks and Nurse
• Managers/CUC’s to have optimal staffing throughout the hospital.
• Bed Management: Review initial service assignment for fit – if necessary discuss with physician, Make request to unit, Make bed assignments as determined by level of care and service, Bed placement/triage patients to appropriate unit, Responsible for direct admissions, coordinates with Kaiser referral center and Oncology department to collect appropriate information, Coordinates with Unit 54 for smooth transfers, Conduct surgical bed meeting daily M-F at 8:30am and if necessary, at 4pm, Conduct 10pm huddle with Academic Team Resident and Admitting Hospitalist to determine bed availability and admission status of both groups.
• 9AM and 4PM bed meeting – agree primary patient flow issues and tactics for addressing
• Gather data, conduct analysis and provide input on patient flow systems problems and solutions
• Interface with nurse management, physicians to coordinate to problem solve patient flow issues Collaborates with ED CUC’s/Charge Nurses to determine need for yellow alert.
• Authorizes red alert, and facilitates patient flow issues to improve critical care capacity
• Trouble shooting unresolved issues concerning equipment, dietary, housekeeping and transport, and lab during off hours (evenings, nights and weekends)
• Rapid response quality check: Stroke Alert quality check, Code Pink quality check, Code Green quality check, Code Blue quality check, Emergency response (flood, snow, etc)
• Additional responsibilities Evenings, Nights, and Weekends: Employee relations issues, Disciplinary activity, Substance abuse and testing, Patient complaints/conflict resolution, Resource to staff for policies and procedures, Assist with BBP exposures protocols to staff.

$37.69 - $62.76Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
