Asbestos Abatement Supervisor

This position is responsible to provide operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must possess ability to perform tasks related to Asbestos Removal, and will be required to use a variety of specialized equipment. Qualified candidate will be required to supervise Asbestos techs in the process of their jobs and be responsible for all documentation and support

Responsibilities

Meet with Project Managers, Operations Managers, Assistant Operations Managers, Customers, and/or Customers' Agents to obtain complete understanding of job requirements and documents as necessary job requirements before project start up Clearly communicate all job requirements including but not necessarily limited to; job schedules, work plans, abatement techniques, equipment usage, hazardous conditions and safety procedures, damage control procedures, job site layout, sampling, reporting, and emergency procedures Take disciplinary action when any Technician or Crew Leader working on the job is in violation of Company policy, regulatory standards, or site-specific rules. Ensure that each employee is present with their badge at the job start time that no one is using another's badge, and that correct job numbers and records are being scanned. Ensure that all necessary information and posted notices required on the job site have been posted. Report all other activities that may have been done on a BELFOR job, so that BELFOR is not held responsible for another company's work. Represent BELFOR during regulatory site visitations or other, third-party visitations in accordance with BELFOR's policy concerning regulatory site visitations. Learn and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation processes Perform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition Must maintain attention to detail Comply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods. Record operational or environmental data. Sort specialized hazardous waste at landfills or disposal centers, following proper disposal procedures. Drive trucks or other heavy equipment to convey contaminated waste to designated sea or ground locations. Drive trucks or truck-mounted equipment. Load or unload materials into containers or onto trucks, using hoists or forklifts. Load or unload materials used in construction or extraction. Clean mold-contaminated sites by removing damaged porous materials or thoroughly cleaning all contaminated nonporous materials. Decontaminate equipment or sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances. Operate machines or equipment to remove, package, store or transport loads of waste materials. Prepare hazardous waste for processing or disposal. Process e-waste, such as computer components containing lead or mercury. Proper use of cleaning/disinfectant solutions and removal techniques of debris from contained areas. Under Supervision - Use of proper lifting techniques, use of slide pads, use of Styrofoam blocks, care and protection of customer personal belongings Will be required to meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people's property Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines Will be required to work nights and weekends as requested as travel periodically Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required

Requirements

Build containment areas prior to beginning abatement or decontamination work. Assemble temporary equipment or structures. Remove asbestos or lead from surfaces, using hand or power tools such as scrapers, vacuums or high pressure sprayers. Prepare hazardous material for removal or storage. Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks Perform personal air samples. Direct all technicians' work activities to meet production and safety requirements. Train employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use. Conduct a fit test the first day of the week and on the first day of a new job for all employees who are required to wear respirators. Conduct an accident/incident investigation in accordance with company policy, should a work site injury or loss of equipment or property occur. Complete the necessary accident or incident investigation forms and submit them to the Operations Manager or Operations Administrator. Record mileage as required and download time records every evening. Document all work completed on the job each day along with the materials/equipment used on the job on a Daily Job Report. Additional other duties as required

Qualifications

Must be able to identify Product (consumables), usage and disposal requirements with training Must possess Asbestos Supervisor License Must be CDPHE Asbestos Certified with Medical Card Must have current Lead Certification Must have current Hazardous Waste Certification Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy Possess sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic English language literacy and fluency

Physical Demands

Frequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time) Access and mobility in tight spaces Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling Ability to use mobile devices for collection of data and time.
