Asbestos Inspector

HIRING FOR AN ASBESTOS INSPECTOR!!

We are looking for a qualified and professional Asbestos Inspector who is certified by the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL). This individual will be responsible for conducting asbestos inspections, surveys, and assessments in various types of buildings, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, experience in asbestos inspections, and a passion for safety and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough asbestos inspections and assessments at various job sites, including commercial, industrial, and residential properties.Perform bulk sampling of materials suspected of containing asbestos.Prepare detailed inspection reports and asbestos survey documentation.Interpret and apply state and federal asbestos regulations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.Provide recommendations for the abatement or management of asbestos-containing materials (ACM).Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and contractors.Participate in ongoing training and certifications as required by NYSDOL.Maintain and organize all inspection and safety documentation.Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA standards regarding asbestos work.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field.Certification: Valid NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector certification required.Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Asbestos Inspector or in a related environmental health and safety role.Knowledge: Strong understanding of asbestos regulations and safety practices, including NYSDOL, EPA, and OSHA standards.Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inspection/reporting software.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs, walk long distances, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., confined spaces, elevated heights).

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional certifications (e.g., Project Designer, Air Sampling Professional).Previous experience working with environmental consulting firms or contractors.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $55.00
