Job Summary:

AI Specialists straddle the disciplines of Data Science & Data Engineering with a focus on data pipelines, AI Model enhancements and model retraining. Their unique skillsets add value throughout the lifecycle of machine learning model development and deployment.  They have a passion for data and build pipelines for Data Scientists.  An AI Specialists knowledge of Machine Learning pairs nicely with a Data Scientist on seamless handoffs for increased model performance and/or additional feature enhancements. Model development opportunities will be on-prem and cloud solutions. They work closely with their product team members including Enterprise Architects and Cyber Security. They participate in various Community of Practices (AI, Cloud, Architecture). These highly skilled team members are empowered, proactive and accountable.  Frequently an AI Specialist interfaces directly with our business partners through various product demos and AI specific meetings.

Responsibilities:

Support, collaborate & work along Data Scientists to ensure optimal data and model performance

Working with ETL tools for moving data and building data pipelines

Working with Python and/or PySpark

Working with all types of Joins, CTE’s, Indexes, Stored Procedures, SQL performance

Working with MLOps/DevOps to build data pipelines for model executions

Working with data ingestion from various data sources like SQL Server, Oracle, Hive

Working with AI Clouds (AWS, AZURE)

Working with Docker/Jenkins/Concourse/Terraform

Basic/Required Qualifications:

Associates Degree

Minimum 1 year required of Related Work Experience

In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 1 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 3 year(s) related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning technologies classifications, regressions and neural networks (Deep Learning)

Experience in working with Data Scientist within an AI Organization.

Strong communication skills

Team player

Working Conditions:

Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
