ASC Coordinator/Peri-Operative Aide (Ambulatory Surgery Center) - 0.5

The ASC Coordinator/Peri-Operative Aide assists the surgery center nursing team in the care of surgical patients with transportation of the pre and post-operative patient. They will perform a final check of supplies to ensure that they are complete and that everything is stocked for care of patients. Moves equipment in and out of pre-op and recovery rooms as needed.

This individual will also serve as a key clerical and administrative coordinator for the unit that manages phones, paging, and communication between the ASC departments. They will check patients in and complete the registration process, being the first point of contact that patient has in the surgery center. The coordination maintains confidential information and supports all other activities of the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

What you will do as a ASC Coordinator/Peri-Operative Aide:

Anticipate this role being primarily remote, however; with onsite training and the potential for some on-site shifts based on department needs.Supports the remote Nursing Phone Team for the ASC in the care of patients prior to their upcoming surgery.Works with HIM (medical records) obtaining Preop History and Physicals.Maintains unit information sources such as daily census sheets, surgical patient billing records, patient clinical results, and surgical schedules in a confidential mannerCleans the room from the least soiled area to the most soiled area, and washes/wipes room equipment and furniture surfaces from top to bottomUses age-appropriate transportation methodsProperly checks patient identification and compares it to the chartCheck-in patients, and complete registration if applicable, as well as hand-off to ASC clinical team, for the ASC OR and Procedure CenterMay assume responsibility for the drafting of acceptable correspondence emanating from the officeMaintains unit information sources such as daily census sheets, surgical patient billing records, patient clinical results, and surgical schedules in a confidential mannerTakes accurate messages via phone, Vocera, paging or in-person in a professional manner and directs such communications as appropriate

What you will need:

High School Diploma or GED; Certified Nursing Assistant; BLSBasic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required within three months of hireClinical experience in an accredited hospital or surgical center. Good working knowledge of office service job skills with demonstrated ability to take initiative with responsibilities and work independently Must have excellent customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to type accuratelyApplicants must be able to multi-task in a very busy setting (with multiple interruptions) while paying great attention to detail of tasksExcellent computer skills in current Microsoft Office and Outlook programs.  Knowledge of proper body mechanics. Ability to lift and position patients and equipment

20.60 - 30.89 USD Hourly
