An Endoscopy Technologist renders professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures and care of the endoscopy patient with the instrumentation utilized in that treatment. The Endoscopy Technologist functions cooperatively with physicians and team members while displaying a teamwork disposition. The Endoscopy Technologist prepares, assembles, and organizes the work environment, equipment and supplies necessary to perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures; is cross-trained in the Endoscopy Technologist and Patient Care Assistant roles, and participates in staff meeting and performance improvement activities. Grandview Endoscopy Center is an outpatient endoscopy facility which is located in the Grandview Physicians Plaza at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. There are 16 pre/post procedural beds and four state-of-the-art endoscopic procedure rooms. The Center will provide therapeutic and diagnostic services of various diseases involving the gastrointestinal tract, especially colon cancer screenings, in a personalized and caring environment. Grandview Endoscopy Center anticipates Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) accreditation CMS Certification, following surveys in late Summer / early Fall of 2019.
