ASIC New Product Manager, Kuiper Silicon Development Engineering
Project Kuiper is Amazon’s initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit communications satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities around the earth.

The Kuiper Engineering team is seeking a detailed oriented, results-driven, customer-centric ASIC New Product Planner with experience in pre-production development and manufacture of semiconductor integrated circuit (IC) chips for digital and analog ASICs and SOCs. ASICs are the foundation of Kuiper’s innovative aerospace and terrestrial networking infrastructure equipment and data services. The ASIC new product planner is a key design engineering team member who is responsible to manage all aspects of Kuiper’s ASIC engineering sample work-order definition, execution and downstream logistical supply fulfilment from initial design release, through qualification into mass production transfer that accelerates time-to-market velocity on behalf of making life improving impact to customers around the globe.

The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of all phases of the end-to-end semiconductor IC product lifecycle, development methodologies and manufacturing flows/dependencies/cycle-times from post-GDSII tape-out through wafer foundry, package substrate fabrication, into OSAT contract manufacturing applying module technologies such as FCBGAs, CSP, WLP, QNFs, SIPs. They combine a hands-on background of sample supply/demand operations planning with demonstrated experience executing technical interdependencies of NPI engineering builds including DFM rule checks, in-line process monitors yield data engineering review and material lot release, configuration management lot controls, assembly build instructions, and wafer probe/final class test route and binning. The successful candidate will be able to lead aligning both external vendor engineering and internal engineering teams in complex build and delivery logistics plans for on-time deployments, identify and mitigate execution schedule risks, ensure quality specification adherence, and provide status reporting and project health metrics. To be successful you are proactive, owner who is comfortable operating independently. You are passionate about semiconductors, NPI, and Kuiper’s prospective customer and societal impact. You are excited by solving difficult challenges and contributing to launching a space-craft and user terminal network that meet performance, quality, and availability objectives.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:

• Collect, consolidate, and priority allocate internal silicon engineering design and validation customer demand requirements to facilitate bring-up, DVT, qualification, characterization and down-stream PCBA factory integration.
• Convert demand requirements into supply build plans applying line-capacity, multi-tiered yield loss, and test time constraints.
• Communicate the build plan signal to 3rd party factory vendors, oversee and drive build plan execution, and ensure on-time delivery to fulfill customer demand and stock both semi-finished and finished goods inventory levels to service level agreement target policy.
• Prepare product engineering build plans / assembly instruction bill of material documentation set-ups in a PLM Configuration Management. Will include defining and maintaining a product SKU naming convention, rev control and part/label schema.
• Coordinate and drive transportation logistics and export trade compliance across a multi-node international semiconductor supply chain.
• Drive wafer lot plans, starts, package and test lot plans and work orders, package substrate and EE parts raw materials orders
• Will plan and raise purchase orders, will direct deployment of chip supply to customers, will coordinate all supply operations execution logistics, and
• Will maintain end-to-end Wafer Fab TO Assembly/Test Lot traceability records for tracking as-built and as-deployed sample supply chain of custody.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
