ASL (RID-Certified) Independent Contractor Interpreter (Tacoma, WA))

We are currently seeking RID-certified ASL Interpreters for in-person appointments at hospitals, medical offices, and other client sites.

As a self-employed independent contractor with CyraCom, you choose which appointments to accept. We offer competitive hourly rates.

Position Details: On-site ASL Interpreter

Job Type: Independent Contractor

As an Independent Contractor Interpreter, you will not be an employee of CyraCom. Instead, you will function as a vendor, providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis.

Qualifications

RID-CertifiedAdvanced, accurate interpretation skills for repeating critical information between English and American Sign LanguageAn extensive working knowledge of the NADRID Code of Professional Conduct and familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act

We are looking for experienced candidates that have a mixture of the following:

Interpretation experienceProfessional certification and trainingA two- to a four-year degree in interpretationHigher education both in the United States and in programs taught in
the other working languageExperience in relevant areas other than interpretation (e.g., healthcare)
