**Job Title: Asphalt Foreman**
**Job Description**
Hours will be based on the project they're assigned to, typically around 10-12 hours days from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends if the workload is heavy or weather affects the schedule. The foreman will report to the shop in Freeport, PA, and travel to the site together or drive directly if they live close. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Asphalt Foreman/Supervisor or higher position, with the ability to layout a job from start to finish.
**Responsibilities**
+ Run and supervise the Asphalt crew using independent thinking skills and knowledge to complete projects in a timely, quality manner.
+ Supervise the crew at project sites, prepare equipment for projects, and ensure jobsite safety.
+ Follow all safety requirements and ensure the safety of crew members and worksite visitors.
+ Perform all hands-on deck tasks as needed to successfully complete projects.
+ Report daily to the executive superintendent.
+ Review all projects for potential safety hazards and create a plan to handle them.
+ Review contract details and discuss with the estimator to ensure the scope of work and customer expectations are understood.
+ Ensure all truck drivers and operators are properly trained and licensed.
+ Provide site-specific training to all crew members.
+ Review the job site for potential safety hazards and ensure all marker utilities are in place.
+ Set up traffic control and signage according to job requirements.
+ Oversee and supervise asphalt paving crews on various projects including commercial parking lots, city streets, county, and state roadways, and interstate highways.
+ Enforce and abide by safety policies while completing quality work daily.
+ Perform asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations.
+ Read plans and specifications including application rates, grades, slope, and drainage.
+ Complete jobs under budget and on time by setting clear expectations and feedback to crew members.
+ Manage all aspects of the operation including ordering materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
+ Coordinate with other foremen, plants, crews, subs, and vendors.
+ Ensure daily maintenance and housekeeping are occurring and pre-trip inspections are submitted daily.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Asphalt Foreman/Supervisor role.
+ Ability to layout a job from start to finish.
+ Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures.
+ Experience in asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations.
+ Proven track record of completing jobs under budget and on time.
+ Ability to manage all aspects of the operation including materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficient with GPS grade and slope control.
+ Computer skills.
+ Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 2+ years of experience as a paving foreman with references.
+ Knowledge of local customers, materials, and specifications.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work well with team members or inspectors while managing stressful situations.
+ Proven track record of being a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision.

The pay range for this position is $85200.00 - $95000.00
