Asphalt Plant Operator


    

Position Summary:   Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway/heavy contractor looking for an Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team in Shakopee beginning in March 2025! This position plays a crucial role in the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our customers. In this position, one must simultaneously load out mix while performing necessary tasks to maintain efficient and smooth asphalt plant operation daily.

Job-Type: Full-time

Requirements: All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test.  References will also be checked.

Job Duties:

Keep asphalt plant mechanically sound and reliable Sign truck drivers in if needed Maintain and order materials such as a/c and aggregate Have mix ready when jobs are to start Communicate with Pit/Loader Operator on daily needs Communicate with Lab Tech on daily results Stay in touch with Paving Foreman regarding job orders Keep Truck Dispatch notified on any possible issues with trucking (no shows)

Preferred Experience & Education:

Minimum of 5 years' of operating an asphalt plant  High school diploma or equivalent Must be organized and reliable Knowledge of and experience with hand tools and their mechanics Strong computer skills a plus Bilingual a plus (Spanish and English)
