ASRS Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a ASRS Maintenance Technician($24.35-$34.07/hr) for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson, SC. ASRS Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot and maintain controls/mechanical components in complex machinery ensuring high reliability with safety remaining first priority. Executing electrical PM programs, and making complex changes in PLC, HMI, and Servo Drive Programming. Precision mechanical knowledge, with rigging knowledge is a plus.

Primary responsibilities include:

•    Promote an action oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.
•    Observes all OSHA and company safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times. Notifies Supervisor of potential electrical/mechanical hazards and takes immediate corrective action. Demonstrates basic National Electrical Code understanding.
•    Work in conjunction with Quality department to ensure finished product satisfies all finished product quality standards.
•    Troubleshoot, repair, replace and calibrate electrical sensors including: photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, magnetic, pressure, temperature, weight and position sensors.
•    Troubleshoot, repair, replace and commission all electrical control devices including: AC drives, DC drives, Servo Controllers, contactors, motors, breakers, solenoids power supplies and indicator lights.
•    Troubleshoot, repair, replace and commission all PLC/HMI based hardware including: processors, discrete and analog I/O cards, power supplies, network adapters, Distributed I/O, dedicated operator interfaces such as Panelview, PC based interfaces and message displays such as Rsview.
•    Diagnose problems using laptop computers interfaced to PLC’s, HMI’s and servo systems utilizing electrical schematics, meters, and any additional resources available.
•    Makes small program changes in PLC’s logic, HMI’s programs and servo controller logic to aid in the diagnosis and repair of machine problems.
•    Makes wiring/programming changes on all production equipment as required.
•    Performs electrical preventative maintenance at scheduled intervals as assigned. 
•    Assists Production, Maintenance, Process and Project Engineers to meet daily priorities, coverage, and special projects.
•    Assists with projects and equipment installations as necessary.
•    Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and assists with training of new personnel.
•    Attends all training opportunities provided by the company when applicable.
 

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
•    Has fundamental knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation.
•    Has advanced knowledge of all controller-based hardware and software.
•    Standard knowledge of product specifications, quality requirements, production goals, efficiency and waste.
•    Strong mechanical skillset, with emphasis in Precision Maintenance.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Excellent analytical skills. 
•    With assistance, can operate production equipment.
•    Makes quick and accurate electrical repairs and program changes.
•    Works well in a team environment. 
•    Personal Computer skills including specific controls programming software and basic e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
•    Associates Degree in Electronics or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Minimum 1-3 years of industrial experience preferred.
•    Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
•    Equipment requires 310 max weight or less to operate.
