Assay Technology Pathologist (all genders)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key member of our team, you will:
Analyze tissue samples using various technologies (e.g., H&E, IHC, ISH, RNAScope) within multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, inflammation, immunology, and cell and gene therapy, in both research and clinical (GCP) environmentsPerform evaluations of H&E-stained tumor slides for macrodissection to facilitate molecular analysesMaintain stringent quality control for tissue samples and staining, coordinating with both internal and external groupsServe as the go-to expert for histopathology technologies, particularly IHC, mIF, and ISH/RNAscope, assisting in the development and validation of new assays for clinical trialsAid in the establishment and validation of automated assays, such as immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridization, focusing on image analysisand tissue processing protocolsBuild and maintain collaborative relationships with academic institutions, CROs, diagnostic companies, and industry associations, offering insights on advanced technologies for spatial analysis and multiplex assaysWork closely with project and strategy teams, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration

You have a M.D. degree in PathologyYou have a strong background in research/clinical development, particularly in biomarker-focused initiatives, with experience in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or biotech sectorsYou demonstrate a robust scientific foundation in cancer biology and/or immunologyYou are proficient in histopathology techniques (e.g., IHC, ISH, macro-/microdissection, quantitative imaging analysis) and bring experience in assay development, validation, and image analysis algorithm creationYou are skilled in implementing complex in vitro diagnostic assays for clinical trial requirements and sample handling strategiesYou have advanced understanding of pathophysiology and oncology therapies, with an emphasis on translational sciences and biomarkers (additional disease area experience is beneficial)You are familiar with relevant regulations (e.g., IVDR, CAP/CLIA)You bring a strong scientific reputation with publications and a solid network within academic and clinical circles, along with excellent leadership, communication, and influencing abilitiesYou are fluent in English (both written and spoken), with German language skills being advantageous
We use the possibilities of hybrid working flexibly. In order to experience community and collaboration, you are on site at least 3 days per week.
