Job Summary The goal for this employee is to become qualified through training to assemble pumps for testing and do all final assembly and preparation for shipment independently.  Builds sub-assemblies and completed units working to exact tolerances and customer and specifications requirements.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus.  Knowledgeable in assembling parts, machining, quality control is a plus. Responsibilities and Duties + 1.  Plans sequence of work, resulting in sub-assemblies or complete units, working from complex blueprints, drawings, sketches, verbal or written instructions.  Works to Ruhrpumpen standards and customer requirements.  Does welding (non-code), tacking, and brazing per Ruhrpumpen procedures, as well as piping, hydrotesting and tube bending to ensure compliance to customer specifications. +  2.  Makes all required installations, hand fitting, scraping, deburring, cleaning, aligning, synchronizing, testing, and other operations to exact specification requirements. +  3.  Performs non-repetitive and varied sequences of assembly operations to build component parts into sub-assemblies and complete units for production and experimental or development products. +  4.  Performs piping and pressure tubing work associated with pumps, mechanical seals and other equipment assembly or repair. + 5.  Sets up and operates drill presses, arbor presses, acetylene torch, welder (arc, mig, stud), and variety of mechanics and assemblers hand tools to machine and handwork parts and components for assembly. +  6.  Lays out baseplates for correct alignment of pump to motor or turbines.  Cuts, fits, and tack welds all electrical, lube oil, and cooling piping. +  7.  Assist and coordinates work of other assemblers. +  8.  Uses precision measuring devices. +  9.  Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion. + 10.  Performs other duties as assigned. + 11.  Follows appropriate handling and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with EPA Regulations. + Knowledge of applicable Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). + 12.  For protections of self and others, performs all work in accordance with established safety practices and facility safety rules. + 13.  Produces quality on time parts and complies with ISO 9000 requirements. Qualifications and Skills + Completion High School or Equivalent and/or one to two years of Trade or Technical  School or equivalent   requiring use of shop mathematics, some complicated drawings, specification, charts, and tables, together with the use precision measuring instruments.        Physical Requirements Standing  Walking Twisting  Bending Kneeling  Lifting minimum of  30 lbs.
