**Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling small parts to engine manifolds, ensuring the accuracy of orders and inventory, and assisting in the final inspection and packaging of parts. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our assembly line. **Responsibilities** + Help to assemble small parts to engine manifolds. + Add washers and bolts to coolers. + Utilize torque tools to tighten parts to specific measurements. + Follow step-by-step instructions for assembly processes. + Add oil when required and perform bench assembly work. + Complete minor paint touch-ups if needed. + Conduct final inspections to ensure quality. + Ensure order and inventory accuracy. + Assist in loading completed assemblies into crates. + Pay close attention to detail. + Use pneumatic tools, including grinders, air ratchets, impact guns, and rivet guns. + Steam clean pieces to ensure parts are free from dirt and chips. + Dip parts into rust remover and oil parts prior to packaging. + Band workpieces and prepare them for shipping. + Comfortably move larger equipment. **Essential Skills** + Attention to detail. + Assembly experience. + Ability to read blueprints. + Experience with hand tools. + Mechanical assembly experience. + Experience with calipers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in a non-automotive assembly environment. **Why Work Here?** Our company has recently been acquired by a leading industry player, offering long-term opportunities for employees. Our facility, currently expanding to include three shifts, consists of two separate buildings that house CNC machinery, weld booths, and racking systems. While the facility is older and can be loud, dirty, and subject to temperature fluctuations, we are committed to upgrading it. You will work in specific departments under the guidance of a supervisor and alongside a set team. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $22.60 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
