**Job Title: Assembler** **Job Description** We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembling mechanical parts according to drawings and specifications, using hand tools, power drills, and portable gas heating equipment. This role involves fitting and aligning machined parts to assemble compressors, blowers, and vacuum pumps. **Responsibilities** + Fit and align machined parts such as bearings, diaphragms, impeller wheels, blower casings, shafts, and gear cages to assemble compressors, blowers, and vacuum pumps. + Scrape bearings to fit shafts using hand scraper, blue chalk, and abrasive paper. + Screw and bolt together mechanical parts such as gears, vanes, needle bearings, and ring gear to assemble gear cage assembly using wrenches and screwdrivers. + Shrink impeller wheel, sleeves, spacers, and balance piston onto shaft to form spindle using portable gas heating equipment. + Caulk metal sealing strips into seams of impeller wheels, sleeves, and balance piston to form seal between impeller wheel and diaphragm using hammer and caulking chisel. + Lift and position spindle into casing to align diaphragm to spindle and upper and lower blower casing using lead wires, micrometers, and calipers. + Level beams supporting bedplates over test pit using transit, master straightedge, and levels. + Align and level blower, induction gear, oil tank, and drive unit on bedplate to mark mounting holes using gauges, rules, punch, and scribes. + Drill, tap, and ream holes for mounting bolts, coupling guards, and dowel pins using portable drill press. + Install inlet and discharge piping to blower using hand tools, and attach instruments such as barometers, thermometers, pressure gauges, thermocouples, and speed indicator to blower. + Dismantle unit from test pit and clean and oil parts prior to shipment. + Conduct specified tests to determine blower performance using electrical test equipment and record instrument readings. **Essential Skills** + Experience with air tools and hand tools. + Understanding of basic motor functions, including torque specifications and gauge knowledge. + Ability to read and interpret SOPs and engineering drawings. + Proficiency in measuring bolts and reading tape measures/rulers. + Ability to take constructive feedback and make necessary adjustments. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in general labor, assembly, and inspection. + Capability to work on production lines, particularly in sub-assemblies where the motor is already assembled. + Work effectively in a team setting, typically with 4-6 people on each line. + Ability to lead or assist as needed in a line setup. **Why Work Here?** We offer a supportive work culture that promotes from within.
