**Assembly Line Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Assembly Line Worker to join our team in producing high-quality storm and retractable doors. The ideal candidate will be involved in various aspects of the production line, ensuring the assembly, quality check, and packaging of products. **Responsibilities** + Work in the storm door plant and on the assembly line, performing tasks such as pounding glass, attaching handles, bolting frames, checking parts for quality, packing products, and wiping down doors to inspect for scratches and dents. + Cross-train in several different areas, including assembling door frames, packaging, or drilling. + Stay on your feet all day, comfortable with twisting, leaning over, and using arms and hands frequently. + Use drills and hand tools or twist parts and screws together at various stations. + Keep up with a fast-paced production environment. + In the warehouse, pick orders using a headset that instructs on materials to pick, and lift up to 100 lbs. **Essential Skills** + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + 1+ years of production or assembly experience. + Ability to read a tape measure. + Fluent in speaking and reading English. + 1+ years of experience working in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to be on your feet all day and use hand tools. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with general production, labor, and assembly work. + Familiarity with hand tools. + Ability to work in a diverse environment with multiple languages spoken on the floor. **Why Work Here?** We focus on employee engagement and recognition by hosting various events throughout the year. The large production floor includes five assembly lines. Steel-toed boots are required, and we provide eye and hearing protection. You must wear pants or jeans. The diverse workforce includes speakers of over 17 different languages. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.20/hr.
