Job Description
As an Assembly Mechanic, you will be responsible for assembling industrial shredders and their sub-assemblies by following drawings, written procedures, manufacturers' recommendations, and verbal specifications. You will work with hydraulic and electric-powered systems, perform inspections on parts to determine their condition, set up systems for testing, break down and prepare systems for painting and/or shipment, and tear down and inspect rebuild systems.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble and disassemble sub-components.Pay attention to detail and have an advanced understanding of mechanical systems.Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints.Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.Understand bearings, seals, shafts, and other shredder components.Maintain flawless organizational skills and demonstrate acute attention to detail.Operate common assembly equipment such as torches, pneumatic tools, hydraulic jacks, grinders, and pipe fitting/cutting equipment.Read manufacturing drawings and identify specifications/measurements for parts.Manage work area to meet high levels of housekeeping and cleanliness.Work safely at all times.Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, manlifts, and scissorlifts.Anticipate and help plan for materials and resources needed for current and upcoming jobs when applicable.Essential SkillsMechanical inclinationExperience with blueprints and schematicsProficiency with power toolsExperience with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsAbility to read and interpret manufacturing drawingsStrong troubleshooting skillsAttention to detailOrganizational skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with industrial size equipmentMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 15 pounds above shoulder heightWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Industrial shop environment with open bay doors. The environment can be loud and noisy due to grinding and welding activities. The work hours are from 7am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday for day shifts, and from 3:30pm to 2am Monday to Thursday for swing shifts, with a differential pay rate.
