Assembly Operator

 

Job Description

Responsible for safe daily operation of assigned stations. Ensures quality of work on parts through understanding and following work instructions and procedures. Demonstrates urgency when performing tasks to meet hourly/daily production targets.    

 

Work independently and as part of a group.  Must be able to ready and understand written work instructions and HMI computer screens.  Able to communicate machine or station issues to department setters or supervisors.  Excellent attendance is a must for this position.

 

Performance Expectations

Comply with Safety Policy. Ensure PPE requirements are followed and communicate with supervisor regarding issues. Comply with work instructions and department processes to ensure production of quality products to customers. Understand and adhere to attendance policy. Demonstrate the values of our safety culture within the assigned area. Working knowledge of all equipment in the assigned area. Understand and accurately complete necessary departmental paperwork (ODS, TPM, routing sheets, etc.). Communicate and share information within the department. Formulate production output report to supervisors. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent general education. Entry/basic level computer skills. Proven record of good attendance. Ability to communicate well. Flexible and able to adjust daily tasks accordingly. Ability to work in both team and independent environments. Willing to learn. Accurately input data. Ability to operate machines and equipment. Ability to keep safety and quality as top priorities. Knowledge of manufacturing process of assembly and machining, preferred. Exposure to lean concepts and continuous improvement, preferred.

 

Working Conditions 

Able to work in varying temperatures inside of the facility. Able to move throughout all areas of the plant to perform duties. Visual ability with or without correction. Able to spend 25% of time of the production floor in a manufacturing environment and 75% of the time in an office environment.
