Assembly Operator
**Job Title: Assembly Operator** **Job Description** The Assembly Operator utilizes a variety of hand and power tools to perform advanced assembly operations of complex assemblies in accordance with quality and quantity standards. This role also involves training employees in both basic and complex operations. **Responsibilities** + Perform all work in accordance with the Standard Work Outline. + Assemble car locks daily based on the hour-by-hour schedule. + Navigate through kits provided to assemble each build. + Perform all work safely, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. + Follow specifications for inspections as noted. + Dimensionally check and test production to ensure assembled output meets requirements per AQL standards. + Use properly calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other measuring tools. + Inform the Team Leader of any operating/material/parts conditions that would interfere with quality/quantity production, and take or coordinate approved actions to resolve the problem(s). + Perform operator maintenance and operational checks on all departmental tools and equipment. + Segregate and periodically dispose of scrap/recycled material into approved collection containers. + Frequently lift/move up to and including 50 lbs. + Perform required motions such as standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. + Receive daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor. + Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **Essential Skills** + 1 year of experience in assembly, with an emphasis on mechanical aspects. + Experience using basic hand tools. + Ability to stand for 8 hours. + Good communication skills and attention to detail. + Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and work safely. + Ability to read and write to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Proficient use of power tools. + Knowledge of blueprint reading. + Quality inspection skills. **Why Work Here?** We are a growing, $2.5 billion global company with more than 120 locations and over 10,000 employees working together to ensure a more secure world. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with mandatory overtime the last week of the month to meet deadlines. Hours may range from 1-2 extra hours a day, and some Saturdays may be required. Shifts available are 1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm) and 2nd shift (2:15pm - 10:00pm). **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
