Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Manager of EHS & Emergency Services to join our studio management team in Doraville, GA. In this role you will be responsible for EHS and Emergency Services compliance, training programs, legal compliance, fire safety and the general safekeeping of our employees, guests, and assets every day.

The operations consist of 40+ acres including soundstages, production offices, administrative offices, warehouse, mill buildings, and food & beverage operations.  You will work closely with Los Angeles based team members to help build and manage key SOP’s, best practice programs, and vendor engagement strategies across the studio facility.  You will need to be a seasoned safety professional able to operate at multiple levels and bring in a forward-thinking operations expertise.

What You’ll Do

Develop and implement Emergency Services and EHS programs, strategies and operational processes in conjunction with our Los Angeles based teamImplement studio policy including spill response, hazardous waste management, fire alarm testing, life safety system testing, fire equipment and sprinkler testing, indoor air quality testing, floor warden programs, and hot work program/permitsLead relevant studio programs including employee/contractor safety, electrical safety, fall protection, hazardous waste & materials, machine guarding, personal protective equipment, safety risk assessments, air/water/stormwater permits and obligations, etc.Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver for departmental teams by assessing and abating environmental, health and safety hazards, etc.Work with site management to develop a culture of safety and compliance including initiatives which keep safety top of mind every dayManage injury and illness investigations and associated record keepingAdditional ongoing responsibility includes executive status reporting, emergency response plans (fire, smoke, pandemics, etc.), incident reporting/case management  Develop and maintains strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, serving as liaison with relevant public agencies as needed for the companyResponsible for managing and overseeing all safety vendors to help coordinate local and corporate compliance requirementsOversee safety team meetings including developing content and presentingDocument work in information management systems (Gensuite)

Safety Guru- You have extensive experience developing and building safety, compliance, training, and testing programs. You understand risk and how to mitigate it whether it be for employees, vendors, productions, or assetsKPI driven- Anticipates problems by implementing programs that mitigate incidents, maximizes personal/production safety, and reduces overall liabilityDeep knowledge base- You know the ins and outs of governing and authoritative codes and compliance to ensure nothing gets missedProject Manager- Ability to lead multiple projects at once, using your influence to keep others and programs on track with little oversightCommunicates with ease- You have a way with words, written and verbal

What You Must Have…

B.S. in Emergency Management, EHS, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Homeland Security, Fire Administration, Business Continuity, or another relevant field7+ years experience in EHS, Emergency Management, Business Continuity, or Fire Prevention functionsProven knowledge of fire prevention codes, regulations, and standardsProficient in Word, Access, Excel, and Power PointRequired to be available at any time to coordinate response during an emergency

What Would Make You a Stand-out:

Master’s Degree in EHSCertified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial HygienistCertified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP-DRII) or similar certificationProficient in Emergency Management planning, training, exercise development, response, and recovery as well as in Business Continuity planning, training, exercise development, gap analysis, and program maturityProject Management experienceExperience with GensuiteHigh-end TV and/or film production experience

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
