POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Under the general direction of the Operations Manager this position will be responsible to lead a team in assembling fabricated and purchased goods into a final assembly, to ensure the quality of said product, and to deliver the product accurately and completely to the warehouse.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Supervisor will be responsible for a defined geographical area within the plant, the associated team members as well as managing materials and information associated with work-in-process (WIP) components and finished goods.
The position will ensure the assembly line schedule is communicated accurately and frequently to internal customers and suppliers and will work with fabrication and purchasing to ensure all parts required for assembly are delivered on time to the line and defect-free.The position will be responsible for reporting safety, quality, delivery, and usage metrics to the Operations Manager and identify and correct all issues that negatively affect these metrics.This position will own the design of the line and is empowered to make any changes required to meet productivity goals.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
FULL ownership of a segment of finished goods SKU’s associated with assigned line, including:Ownership of all WIP fabricated parts, subassemblies, and finished goodsResponsibility for understanding and disseminating part prints.Interpretation and dissemination of daily ship scheduleMust deliver products to the customer (internal or external) 100% on time within all quality and cost constraints.Ownership of all safety Ownership of all painted, fabricated, and purchased WIP feeding assembly.Always maintaining an accurate part countEnsuring a DAILY communication chain back to manufacturing for what parts are needed and when they’re needed.Ownership of parts within the line’s defined boundariesEnsure all parts remain within assigned area and only the assigned area.Ensure all product quality within assigned area of control.Track and report safety, quality, productivity, and usage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisResponsible for the management of assigned team membersResponsible for performance of assembly team including coaching, disciplinary writeups (in collaboration with HR), performance reviews, and holding team accountable to company policies and procedures.Develop the team members through training and coaching.Provide effective employee relations and leadership in the accomplishment of company goals and objectives.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
