Job Description
The Assembly Technician 2 produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. The individual prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. This role requires a quick learner who is mechanically inclined and can assemble equipment with minimal training using provided tools, drawings, blueprints, or work instructions.
ResponsibilitiesPerform basic mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.Conduct leak tests.Operate hand and power tools to complete assemblies.Read and interpret work instructions to ensure the accuracy of work performed.Interact with management and team members to encourage effective communication on the production floor.Perform standard testing and minor troubleshooting.Ensure quality standards are met throughout all steps of the assembly process.Perform other duties as required.Maintain regular attendance as an essential duty of the position.Essential SkillsAbility to assemble complex assemblies and equipment with minimal training using tools, drawings, blueprints, or work instructions.Heavy mechanical experience, not light mechanical work.Ability to handle large and heavy parts, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts and weekends as needed.Experience with semiconductor equipment assembly.Proficiency with hand and power tools.Strong organizational and computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsCable and harness assembly experience is a plus.Cleanroom experience is a plus.Technician coursework or an Associate's Degree is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work within various departments including cleanroom manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. Most work is performed in the manufacturing area, requiring the wearing of a full cleanroom suit (bunny suit/smock). The environment is subject to frequent interruptions and hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals. The role involves talking on the phone and using a computer, with exposure to various noise levels from manufacturing and office areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90
