Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Assembly Technician I to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Team in Reno, NV. The Assembly Technician I will work as part of a team to assemble products or components of a product. This position will perform basic and routine tasks in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of the tasks as assigned.  This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals.

 

The Assembly Technician I, as with all members of the Legrand Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

 

What Will You Do?

Independently perform routine tasks in Cord Prep, Wire Prep, Packaging, and Production Station 1.Follow procedures to produce consistent, quality products expediently.Ability to log in and out of jobs in Vantage.Ability to pull up build instructions in Vantage.Perform simple, repetitive bench assembly.Perform proper crimping and cabling techniques.Be organized and keep the work area clean.Perform work in a safe manner. Report repairs or safety concerns to management.Maintain compliance with all ISO regulations and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). College-level Electronics Technician coursework is preferred.

 Experience:  

Minimum of 6 months of assembly experience, preferred. A minimum of 1 year of electro/mechanical assembly experience is preferred for Assembly Technician II.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Basic ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic understanding of the English language (read and speak). So can interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic ability to solder wires for cables, small wires, and surface mount components.Experience with assembly of miniature mechanical components, preferred.Experience with computer assembly and hardware/software troubleshooting, preferred.Effective communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently. Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook), preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

The work environment is fast-paced, and priorities can shift quickly.All employees are expected to go outside their primary responsibilities when required and multi-task job duties regularly.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
