Asset Care (Maintenance) Planner/Scheduler

This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana. 


Scope:

 

The Asset Care Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for planning, estimating and scheduling work to be performed by the Asset Care Staff and will be the Administrator for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.  The Planner/Scheduler will ensure that work is scheduled efficiently with clear expectations/instructions for each task.  They will review and prioritize work requests to ensure that defects are corrected before they lead to breakdowns, and they will analyze WO trends to drive improvements in the overall asset care plan.

 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Continuously improve the asset care planning function.Interface with Asset Care staff, Purchasing and Storeroom while assisting with procurement of all materials required for the department. Interface with Engineering Manager, Storeroom Supervisor, Technicians and Production staff to plan, estimate, and schedule work with minimal impact on production activities to include estimating labor and material requirements, work instructions and safety permits for corrective and preventive maintenance.Schedule maintenance activities performed by sub-contractors.Manage work order backlogs and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance work orders are completed in a timely manner.Enter/maintain equipment, locations, spare part BOM’s and PM task lists in CMMS system as required.Generates reports from the CMMS system as required. Safety Duties: Ensure safe working conditions are being planned with every job and associated PPE, permits and equipment is listed in job plans. Proactively building parts/material ready kits needed for technicians to execute the planned and scheduled work. Reduce number of breakdowns.Reduce unplanned and planned downtime.Review and prioritize Work requests.Develop and continually update the preventive and predictive maintenance plans.All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Must have a minimum of an Associate degree, or equivalent, in a trades related field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in executing, scheduling, and planning of Preventive Maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Must be familiar with the application and operation of all basic maintenance tools and equipment used by various trades groups.Applied knowledge of maintenance practices/processes including electrical and mechanical systems with production/manufacturing equipment.Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.Exceptional communication (verbal & written) and organizational skills. PC skills to include CMMS and Microsoft applications (word, excel, outlook, etc.…).Demonstrate a very high sense of urgency. Equipment reliability is critical.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong Organizational and Technical Skills
