Asset Coordinator
We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for great storytelling and filmmaking that define Lucasfilm. This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work onsite in our San Francisco office and occasionally from home. Reporting to Lucasfilm Director, Digital Assets Management and based in San Francisco, this role will assist with digital assets across live action and animation productions, sorting incoming assets, researching asset info, and fulfilling asset requests. They provide support to the film and image archive departments for collection based special projects. They drive cross-team workflows like ordering supplies, organizing team events, Casual Buyer (finance) responsibilities, and filling in for team members as needed. **What you’ll do** + Order supplies, submit service tickets, troubleshoot technology, and assist team members with any roadblocks that are impacting their deadlines. + Act as department Casual Buyer by ordering supplies, submitting expense reports, forecasting/tracking upcoming expenses, and communicating regularly with Finance team. + Monitor incoming ticket requests and assign to team members based on current bandwidth. Track staff absences and step in to assist as needed. + Drive monthly department newsletter, receiving submissions, scheduling team review meeting, and handling all design changes. + Schedule and drive department check-in meetings, keeping an eye on project deadlines, milestones, and release dates. + Assist in various tasks in the Digital Asset Management system, including administering user accounts and keywording image assets using a controller vocabulary from the Star Wars universe. + General support for film and image archive department activities related to preservation and collection management + Complete special projects and cover for other staff members as needed. Remain aware of current requests and due dates, and proactively offer ways to help meet deadlines. **What we’re looking for** + 2 years’ experience in Live Action and/or Animation Production + Experience with photography,3D assets, or visual material archives a plus + Solid understanding of Star Wars universe and terminology + Strong attention to detail, critical thinker, strong work ethic, and positive attitude while routinely exercising sound judgement + Demonstrates strong professionalism and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality + Self-sufficient, accountable and able to work with minimal supervision, proactively looking for ways to improve workflows and team efficiencies, and embracing change with enthusiasm + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface professionally with internal and external-facing partners + Proficient with Windows and Mac OS, and basic understanding of computer security and handling of sensitive data + Microsoft Office and Google Suite experience (namely spreadsheets), and aptitude for learning new software and troubleshooting issues + Experience with Zendesk and newsletter (ie Mailchimp) software a plus + Experience working with image cataloging and digital asset management systems a plus + Ability to do basic data entry and keywording on image assets The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $51,300.00 - $66,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
