Asset Management and CMDB Manager

Description

The CMDB and Asset Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of an organization's Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring all IT assets are properly tracked and managed throughout their lifecycle, including identifying, recording, updating, and reporting on hardware, software, and network configurations while also maintaining data quality and governance within the CMDB system to support efficient IT service management processes. 

Key responsibilities may include: 

CMDB Maintenance:  Designing and implementing the CMDB structure, including defining Configuration Items (CIs), relationships between CIs, and naming conventions. Managing data quality by performing regular audits, identifying inconsistencies, and addressing data discrepancies. Implementing processes for data collection, updates, and synchronization across different systems. Asset Lifecycle Management: Tracking the lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal, including asset acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. Managing asset inventory and ensuring accurate asset records within the CMDB. Performing regular asset reconciliation to identify discrepancies and address issues. Reporting and Analysis:  Generating reports on asset utilization, cost optimization, and CMDB health to inform decision-making.Analyzing CMDB data to identify trends and potential issues related to asset management and service delivery. Stakeholder Collaboration:  Collaborating with IT teams across the organization to ensure accurate data entry and maintain data integrity within the CMDB. Providing training and support to users on CMDB best practices and data management procedures. Process Improvement:  Identifying opportunities to automate data collection and update processes within the CMDB. Continuously evaluating and improving CMDB governance policies and procedures to enhance data quality and usability.  

Required Skills: 

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and service management practices Expertise in ServiceNow CMDB tools and technologies Data analysis and reporting skills to interpret CMDB information Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams Knowledge of IT asset management best practices and compliance requirements Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar technology related field.

Hours per Week: 40 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
