Asset Management - Equity Research Analyst, Greater China

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is a leading investment manager for institutions, financial intermediaries and individual investors worldwide. It offers investment management across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, multi-asset and money market funds. 

As an Equity Research Analyst in the Greater China Equity team,  you will cover hardware technology stocks across Greater China, including Taiwan. 

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze strategically the investment opportunities in the Greater China Technology sector. Create and update industry and company models, driving fundamental valuation signals based on long term valuation methodology. Work constantly with other Portfolio Managers and other analysts, locally and across the global platform, to translate research insights into investment decisions. Articulate investment ideas and judgements clearly. Be fully integrated into the investment process and partly compensated on the relevant research signal and investment outcomes. Work closely with the team to carry out various client service activities, including work on regular performance review reports; attend client meetings, both existing and prospective; support Portfolio Managers and Equity Product Specialists (i.e. Investment Specialists) on preparation work, including but not limited to preparing presentation materials for clients.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

Minimum 5 years of financial experience, from sell-side or buy-side equities, covering relevant sectors. Strong analytical skills, ability to measure investment judgement, decision-making, intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty, teamwork, pro-active communication. Be proactive in finding new investment ideas as well as thorough in understanding, valuing and maintaining coverage of existing investments.  Highly motivated individuals who are willing to work hard to build up their knowledge base, performance track record and credibility within the team.  Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work effectively with colleagues based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, and Singapore.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

Proficiency with automation tools within Bloomberg, Excel, etc. is an asset. Some degree of understanding or proficiency in Python or other programming language
