Asset Management - Insurance Investment Specialist - Associate

The Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is one of the world’s deepest and best-resourced fixed income managers, with expertise across all major fixed income sectors, including niche markets. Every investment decision in our fixed income solutions is underpinned by the proprietary research of a globally integrated team of sector specialists. Our shared research language, combining fundamental, quantitative valuation and technical inputs, facilitates the comparison of ideas across sectors and geographies. Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities manages a broad range of strategies, through funds and/or separate accounts, including broad market, long duration, stable value, intermediate high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra-short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages and tax-aware strategies.

As an Investment Specialist, you will be a key member of the team and be expected to articulate the team’s views, positions and performance. You will help in servicing existing relationships, pitching for new business and creating marketing materials. You will work closely with different groups including: portfolio managers, sales channels, other investment specialists, and internal support and operations groups. You must demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyzing portfolios including positioning, analytics and performance resultsCreating and maintaining client presentations, marketing, performance commentary, and other client communicationsResponding to ad-hoc requests from clients and internal groupsFacilitating meetings, both external (client pitches and portfolio reviews) and internal (product development and strategy meetings)Partnering with client advisors on new business opportunities (represent fixed income capabilities in meetings, facilitate RFPs, pitch decks)Developing in-depth understanding of fixed income investment portfolios

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

1-3 years of experience with fixed income knowledgeInterest in financial markets, economics and the insurance industryBachelor’s degreeStrong proficiency with PowerPoint slide creation and strong Excel skills required. Meet tight deadlines while possessing strong attention to detailDemonstrate ability to multi-task and re-prioritize quicklyWritten and verbal communication skillsQuantitative skills - proficiency in basic financial calculations and high aptitude with numbersAdaptable, innovative, and results oriented, with excellent teamwork skillsSeries 7 & 63
