PURPOSE:

The Asset Protection Analyst is responsible for working with assigned software programs to identify possible theft or fraud happening in Cub/Shoppers stores. This position will interact with our Retail Asset Protection team sending case leads out to the field team for further investigation, track successes, and write new queries in assigned software as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job Responsibilities

Be an expert in exception reporting software use; be an expert in CCTV review; be an expert in case reporting software.  Use these systems to stop associates from causing theft or fraud at store level through quick identification and communication of the discovered incidents. Track case types and leads to determine which most often lead to a successful investigation.  Be creative in identifying new queries or case types to explore.  Follow up with field investigators as to outcomes and identify any additional pathways used by the guilty associate that could have been identified within the exception reporting software. Use Cash Over/Short reporting and Deposit reporting to identify internal theft of cash and send case leads to field Train new AP associates on the use of exception reporting software and case reporting software.  Train new store associates to enter incidents into the case reporting software.  investigators. Use loyalty program reporting to identify associates fraudulently collecting points on their personal accounts; use like reporting from other areas of the business to identify theft or fraud leads. Assist other departments with information helpful to them that can be gleaned from exception reporting software; communicate efficiently and professionally to Asset Protection field partners and to other departments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

2 years Asset Protection experience preferred Familiarity with CCTV system operation Experience with case report writing preferred

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

Well organized Creative and self-motivated Strong interpersonal and communication skills Skilled with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to remain calm in high emotion situations Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
