SUMMARYThe Asset Protection Manager is responsible for apprehending shoplifters and completing internal theft/fraud investigations within their assigned stores. The APM is also responsible for monitoring and enforcing shrink reduction controls and identifying ORC activity. This position interacts with store management teams as well as law enforcement agencies to ensure the highest level of loss prevention service is provided. This position reports to the Regional Asset Protection Investigations Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee Asset Protection responsibilities for a group of approximately 5 to 8 stores in assigned area. Constant communication with store management teams to ensure issues are being addressed in a timely manner. Apprehend shoplifters and complete supporting documentation, as necessary, in assigned stores. Conduct interviews and collect all necessary evidence and documentation for the preparation of a complete internal investigation. Maintain strict confidentiality throughout investigation. Monitor assigned stores for Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity and elevate concerns to Asset Protection Investigations Supervisor. Monitor and enforce certain controls at assigned stores in an effort to reduce shrink. Interact with store management teams to ensure the highest level of Asset Protection service is provided in order to mitigate risk. Represent the organization to law enforcement and court hearings on external theft cases. Ensure that all applicable corporate policies and procedures are being adhered to. Assist store operations to ensure back door receiving practices are being adhered to. Focus on front end operations to reduce the exposure to cash and product loss. Monitor for possible acts of teammate dishonesty. Assist Zone Shrink Specialist and Store Management with perpetual inventory counts and follow up on losses. Ensure physical security standards are being followed at store level on a regular basis. Oversee new store opening Asset Protection requirements in assigned area.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent 3 + years of supermarket or comparable experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSatisfactory internal performance reviews. Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates analytical ability and competence in problem solving. Must have a valid driver's license.
