You will perform a variety of tasks, which includes the protection of NEXCOM assets through investigative strategies and the auditing of controls, designed to prevent and minimize loss potential. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our activity duty Military and civilian patrons.

So, what might a “typical” day look like?

o Maintain surveillance throughout the Navy Exchange facilities, as assigned, to identify and detect suspicious activity contributing to both external and internal losses. Utilizes various surveillance techniques, including overt and covert Closed Circuit Television systems

Conducts investigative research, as directed, of cash variances and suspicious register transactions utilizing ASPECT Point of Sale Exception Reporting Systems and the In-Store Processor, as well as other investigative tools. Maintains fire / safety controls and precautions by conducting inspections, as directed, of fire suppression systems, emergency equipment, and potential workplace hazards. Maintains physical security of NEX facilities, adhering to site specific Opening / Closing procedures, Key Controls, Electronic Article Surveillance policies, and Intrusion Detection System alarm controls and response procedures.

The Qualifiers:

One years of experience in clerical, office or retail sales store work of any kindMust possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties, including general law enforcement methods and techniques or experience in investigative type work which included the protection of property, equipment or materials; and person-to-person relationships in maintaining various rules and regulations

o Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check including motor vehicle license.

o Must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance within 6 month
