This role resides in the Retirement Solutions business within the Client Solutions Group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM).  Retirement Solutions includes our Defined Contribution business, our Retirement Intermediary and Insurance business and a dedicated large market retirement distribution effort.  Within Defined Contribution, our primary offerings span investment products across the asset class spectrum (DCIO), advisory/OCIO services and digital advice/managed accounts.

 

YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President to join a dedicated large market distribution team within our Retirement business.  Based within the Client Solutions Group, this individual will identify, develop and maintain relationships with large plan sponsors, represent our Defined Contribution services and work in close coordination with other internal sales and consultant relations partners in the West Coast. This individual has experience working in a relevant aspect of the Defined Contribution market and is a strong communicator, effective presenter, self-motivated and well-versed in a wide array of investment products and services relevant to large DC plans.  We are seeking someone with the ability to manage a territory, strengthen client relationships, deliver follow-through and cold call successfully while coordinating internally with other teams in a highly collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

 

Maintain direct and/or co-coverage responsibility for large plan sponsor organizations focused on generating new sales and maintaining ongoing relationshipsQuickly develop expertise across the GSAM DCIO product array Build familiarity with our other DC services, such as advisory/OCIO and digital advice/managed accounts, where subject matter experts are available for partnership with you as specific opportunities developDevelop and execute a strategic plan for each individual client, which outlines selling opportunities, a service plan and specific deliverables across all asset classes, in coordination with other distribution teams Collaborate with investment and product teams to prepare and review materials for new business opportunities and existing client relationship meetingsParticipate in internal tracking and business planning exercisesProvide market feedback to management and product teamsParticipate in industry forums and maintain significant external industry presenceEffectively manage a large geographical territory (specific territory and coverage is flexible)

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 10+ years of work experience in relevant area(s) of the Defined Contribution and/or asset management industriesStrong work ethic, highly self-motivated and entrepreneurial Exceptional presentation and communication skills Strong territory management and client development skills, including ability to cold call successfully Ability to maintain a consistent travel schedule, and manage to a travel budgetStrong knowledge of DC services and relevant investment products across all major asset classes Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and excellent follow-through Highly collaborative and thrives in a team-based environment Interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of clients, ability to strengthen client relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, ability to work well with others internally to accomplish client objectives Compliance-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

Existing relationships with large DC plan sponsors and consultantsFunctional understanding of Salesforce / CRM platformsMBA or CFA charter a plusSeries 7 and 63 required (or must be obtained within three months of employment)

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this Los Angeles, California, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
