Fixed Income & Liquidity Solutions Overview

Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions, within Public Investing, manages more than $1.7 trillion* in assets for a variety of clients, including private wealth mandates and institutional clients such as insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments. The team has a long history of investing across public fixed income strategies including rates, currency and credit on behalf of our clients. Investment ideas are created through collaboration between portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders.

 

Role Overview

The economic research team is an integral part of the EMD investment team. Along with trading and portfolio management teams, the research team is responsible for generating trade ideas, providing timely research and contributing to investment process and client servicing functions. You will play an instrumental role on the research team, covering LatAm economies, and will be responsible for generating and communicating the team’s economic views on this region and their investment implications. You will be working closely with the rest of the team to incorporate these views into the EMD team’s portfolios. 

 

Responsibilities

Conduct timely, market relevant, economic research on countries within your assigned EMD coverage universe (LATAM).Generate investment ideas for hard and local currency strategies as well as participate in broader thought leadership.Communicate research views internally and externallyIncorporate quantitative and empirical research methods into existing research frameworkContribute to the evolution of research tools and processesParticipate in setting the broader research agenda and work collaboratively with research, trading, and portfolio management teamsPresent research outlook to clients and respond to ad hoc queries Participate in research trips necessary for forming views. 

 

Qualifications

Strong educational background with a degree in economics or finance or related field; Post graduate qualifications, such as Masters or a PhD desirableMinimum 5 years of experience analyzing Emerging Markets Debt, preferably within an investment or asset management firm  Proficiency in data analysis, economic modeling, and forecasting techniques Ability to apply a consistent research framework to a large number of diverse EM countries and translate views into investment recommendationsDemonstrate adaptability, resilience, and an ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environmentStrong written and oral communication and presentation skillsProficiency in Spanish a plus

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
