AYCO Financial Counseling (AYCO) 

Goldman Sachs Ayco Financial Counseling (Ayco) partners with Fortune 1000 companies to design and implement tailored financial planning programs for their workforce—leveraging the 50-year heritage of Ayco and the comprehensive resources of Goldman Sachs to meet the evolving needs of their employees. Ayco believes companies best serve their stakeholders and the greater economy when their employees’ financial lives are clear, understood and in their control. Ayco advisors and technical specialists help clients achieve their personal financial goals through education and guided implementation across seven key financial disciplines, including employee benefit planning.

ABOUT THIS JOB 

Goldman Sachs Ayco Financial Wellness is where financial advisors come to start their career. Coaches are supported with a robust training program that prepares them to be independently working with clients over the phone within their first seven months. The training consists of:
• Dedicated training team to guide new hires through an initial training period
• Support through licensing requirements (SIE, Series 7 and Series 66)
• In-depth technical training on a wide range of financial planning concepts such as:
o Retirement
o Investing
o Budgeting & debt management
o Employee benefits
o Insurance
o Income taxes
o Education funding
o Estate planning
• Practical application of technical training through practice client scenarios
Once through training, a coach’s focus shifts to developing relationships with our clients and providing them with superior one-on-one personal financial planning over the phone via prescheduled appointments and inbound calls. This role is meant for an individual who wants to be client-facing and develop their long-term career as a financial advisor. Continual training will help coaches expand their skills and technical competency beyond their initial training period. Each coach should possess an ownership mindset with a desire to continually develop, learn, and grow professionally.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
• Complete the appropriate licensing requirements for the role within defined time frames if not already licensed
• Actively participate in Financial Wellness’ extensive training program to learn the technical material related to each personal financial planning topic, how to analyze applicable client situations, and effectively communicate concepts to clients
• Develop holistic, comprehensive, and personalized financial plans to support clients to take action, accomplish their goals, and overcome financial challenges
• Become a subject matter expert in company benefits including 401(k), pension plans, life and disability insurance, medical insurance, equity and stock awards, and deferred compensation
• Prepare and deliver financial reports and analyses regarding asset allocation, retirement planning, education funding, risk management, and federal income tax; leverage digital platform tools and resources in coaching conversations
• Establish trust and rapport with broad-based employee populations via scheduled appointments to form long-term relationships as appropriate
• Answer inbound calls to explain the service, aid in the navigation of the digital platform, and assist with real-time financial planning questions
• Identify and discuss appropriate internal products and services in order to provide clients with suitable implementation solutions
• Adhere to industry and company-wide policies, procedures, and compliance
• Proactively seek opportunities to support the team, department, and firm

QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The following criteria is required for the coach role:
• Desire to grow a long-term career as a client-facing advisor at Goldman Sachs Ayco
• Strong passion for personal financial planning and providing excellent client service via extensive daily client contact
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to comprehend, simplify and explain complex financial planning concepts to clients of varying knowledge levels
• Demonstrate integrity and sound judgment when handling highly confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete client deliverables accurately and within designated time frames Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships and foster a collaborative environment with colleagues
• Desire to learn and ability to implement feedback in a positive and constructive manner in pursuit of professional growth
• Bachelor’s degree
• FINRA SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 licenses (or as a condition of employment within a defined time after joining the firm)


The following criteria is preferred for the coach role:
• Minimum of a 3.5 GPA
• Individuals with SIE license, CFP® certification, and/or Life, Accident, and Health license
• Customer service experience
• Experience with eMoney financial planning software and Salesforce CRM
